On Saturday we took the kids to see the Harlem Globetrotters, which was a lot of fun. I never saw them as a kid, but I imagine their act hasn't changed much. Still very goofy and silly, and appealing to a 7 and 9 year old boys sense of humor. We also got the added bonus of a walking tour of Uptown Charlotte, since we had to park in the free parking lot 10 blocks away from the arena.
On Sunday Ryan turned 7 years old.....and I don't have a dog, thank you Jesus!!! That cake was from Cold Stone Creamery, and I tell you, it is so worth the extra few dollars to get a cake that everyone eats. There was not a speck left, and when we used to get just regular birthday cake, no adults wanted any, and the kids just ate the icing. We would end up with half a cake left, which we usually threw out. Not with an ice cream cake...Michael even dared to take a nap during the party, and awoke to find no cake saved for him. That's what he gets for sleeping one off during his nephews birthday.
