A Snow Day in the South

This picture pretty much captures what a "snow day" encompasses in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is poor Ryan attempting some sledding in the dusting of snow that we got this morning. You can't tell from the picture, but our neighbor, Karen, was actually having to pull the sled to get it to go. All yesterday the watherman was predicting 3-5 inches of snow, but much to the children's dismay this is what they awoke to. Ryan would like to write a letter demanding that they all be fired. We haven't had a "real" snowfall that Ryan is able to remember, and Karen is from El Salvador, so they were determined to make the best of it. The worst part about it is that the kids have been sick, so they were going to miss school anyway, so now they have to make up their sick day. And yes, my family members in the Northeast you did read that right, this dusting of snow did require school be called off. Go ahead and chuckle, but we closed our office as well.

This little "change" in our weather has sort of set a tone for this historic day, and hopefully, for our future.

Do you want me to send you a snowball? We have in our freezer-Timmy feels we must save them till Spring.
